Urbit is an open-source, decentralized personal computing platform combining a functional operating system, a deterministic virtual machine, and a peer-to-peer networking protocol, designed to let individuals run sovereign "personal servers" rather than relying on centralized cloud infrastructure. It structures network addresses hierarchically into galaxies, stars, and planets, providing both naming and routing within the Urbit network.
