2018 Bitcoin Market Fall
In January 2018, Brandon Chez became associated with a significant bitcoin market decline. On January 8, almost all cryptocurrencies experienced a loss of 15% or more in value, leading to a market capitalization drop of $100 billion. Chez was implicated in the incident, as it was revealed that on February 7, CoinMarketCap, under his direction, suddenly excluded data from South Korean exchanges, where prices tended to be consistently higher than the global average. This action resulted in a decline in the value of Bitcoin, impacting other cryptocurrencies as well.[1][4][5]
