Carolyn Reckhow is an American Blockchain Enthusiast and Head of Business Development and Strategy at Thesis & Keep Network, formerly Casa and ConsenSys. She is based in New York City.
Carolyn was in academia, specifically social sciences. Long before this, she worked as a therapist/social worker and she still practices as a “therapist” every day running Ops for ConsenSys.
Carolyn attended Clark University where she studied sociology. An active student, Carolyn participated in Alpha Kappa Delta Sociology Honors Society, All Kinds of Girls (AKOG) Mentoring Program, Variant Dance Troupe, and the Rising Stars Mentoring Program before completing her degree in 2010. Carolyn then continued along the path of academia receiving a Master's Degree in Macro Social Work in 2015 from Boston University.
At the beginning of her career, Carolyn was employed in various social worker positions at Riverside Community Care, Eliot Community Human Services, and Health Leads. She was the Project Coordinator at the Center for Addictions Research and Services, Boston University, and the Marketing & Partnerships Coordinator for City Awake.
In April 2015, Carolyn was the Head of Staff at LeanGap, an intensive summer program for high school students that allows them to build their startups.
Carolyn first heard about Bitcoin in 2011 on Reddit but Blockchain did not keen her interest until the advent of Ethereum in 2014/2015. At the time she was attending graduate school and was surrounded by people who were interested in smart contracts and the potential of Ethereum. They gathered weekly as an informal working group that they called a “salon” where they “nerded out about DAOs, smart contracts, the sharing economy, and a variety of blockchain use cases.”
Carolyn was the Co-Founder of Fabriq which utilizes the Ethereum blockchain to institute community governance and mitigate the tragedy of the commons. In March 2015, Fabriq won a hackathon and not long after launched a prototype.
Carolyn was among the first employees at ConsenSys, where she was the Director of Operations. She is currently Head of Business Development and Strategy at Thesis, and working on tBTC, a decentralized BTC peg on Ethereum. Additionally, in June 2018, Carolyn joined Casa Inc. as the Head of Operations & Client Services.
Carolyn is a Clean Tech Committee Member of the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge.
