Mike Davie is an entrepreneur and blockchain expert, best known as the founder of Quadrant Protocol, a data and technology company that aims to make mobile location data easier to buy, sell, and map through blockchain-enabled data authentication technology. Although Mike founded Quadrant Protocol in Singapore in 2014, Appen acquired it in 2021.[1]
Mike's leadership extends beyond his entrepreneurial ventures. He currently serves as the Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO) at Appen, a global leader in AI and data annotation. His strategic vision and technological expertise have been instrumental in driving Appen's success. Prior to his involvement in blockchain, he worked in notable organizations like CanCham Korea and Samsung. [2]
From 1999 to 2005, Mike earned a BBA in International Business and management science from Simon Fraser University. He then obtained an MSc in computer information systems from 2013 to 2014 at Boston University.
Mike is a seasoned professional who has consistently been at the forefront of innovation in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector. Mike has been leading the commercialization of disruptive mobile technology and ICT infrastructure for over a decade with leading global technology firms in Asia, the Middle East, and North America.[3] He began his career in 2005 as a market development manager in some technology companies in Beijing, China. He founded James VII in January 2008 and served as a Founder until December 2010. From December 2010 to December 2013, Mike worked as a Member of the Board of Directors at CanCham Korea. In 2011, Mike joined Samsung as a member of Samsung's Advanced Mobile Product Strategy Division, where he developed go-to-market strategies for cutting-edge technologies created in the Samsung R&D Labs. From 2012 to 2014, he moved to Samsung's Telecommunication Systems Division, where he worked as the Business Development and Marketing Manager.[1]
Mike then founded Quadrant Protocol (whose offshoot was DataStreamX) in 2014 and served as the founder and CEO for over seven years. In 2021, Mike joined Appen and currently works as Appen's Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO).[4]
