Min Teo is a co-founder and Managing Partner at Ethereal Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on early-stage investments in the Web3 and decentralized technology ecosystem. Her career spans traditional finance, startup acceleration, and venture capital, including a key role in building the investment arm of the blockchain software company ConsenSys. [1]
Min Teo studied at the University of Toronto’s Trinity College, where she completed a Bachelor of Commerce through the Rotman School of Management with a focus on economics, finance, and philosophy. She later undertook a certificate course in International Human Rights Law and Practice at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). [6] [2]
Min Teo began her career in traditional finance at Credit Suisse, where she spent nine years between 2008 and 2017 in institutional sales and trading. She advanced through several roles, including Associate, Vice President, Director, and ultimately Executive Director, with postings in both Hong Kong and Singapore.
Following her time at Credit Suisse, Teo transitioned into the technology and startup sector. She served as a part-time partner at Y Combinator, advising early-stage companies, and later founded a payments startup in the United Kingdom.
In 2018, she joined ConsenSys as Executive Director for Investments and Operations, where she co-founded and managed ConsenSys Labs, the firm’s venture production studio. She also oversaw the Tachyon accelerator program for Web3 projects and managed a portfolio of more than 150 companies. She remained with ConsenSys until 2020, later serving as Managing Investments Partner at ConsenSys Mesh, where she continues to act as an advisor.
In 2021, Teo co-founded Ethereal Ventures as a spin-out of ConsenSys Labs and has since served as its Managing Partner. Alongside this role, she has been an early investor in several blockchain and fintech ventures, including EigenLayer, Aztec (where she also acts as a board observer), and Rho Business Banking.
Earlier in her career, Teo gained experience at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB), working across private equity, private credit, and funds investing, as well as at Yoyo Wallet as Vice President of Finance and Operations. She also co-founded OnTarget Financial Education, a nonprofit focused on financial literacy, and held a trustee role at Techfugees, a nonprofit supporting refugees through technology. [1] [2] [6]
