MoonGate
MoonGate is a platform that acts as a bridge between Ethereum wallets and the Solana blockchain, enabling users to seamlessly access Solana DApps and DeFi protocols within the Ethereum ecosystem. [1][2]
Overview
Established in 2022 by Praneet Sinha and Hevar Abrihem, MoonGate aims to act as a bridge between Ethereum wallets and the Solana blockchain. It aims to enable users to access Solana DApps and DeFi within the Ethereum environment without necessitating the creation of new wallets.
MoonGate supports various EVM networks and typically charges approximately 0.3% transaction fees. Utilizing Multi-Party Computation (MPC) technology, it strives to enhance asset security. Key features include an in-app Ethereum-Solana bridge and seamless token swapping. MoonGate aims to facilitate cross-chain liquidity and efficient asset management, potentially marking a significant milestone for Solana.[1][2][3][4]
Integration
Full SDK Integration
MoonGate's full SDK simplifies the integration for developers incorporating Ethereum users into Solana DApps. Compatibility with the Solana Labs Wallet adapter and React-based projects is recommended for optimal performance. Alternatively, developers using custom wallet adapters can receive personalized integration assistance by consulting MoonGate's staff on Discord.[5]
Wallet Adapter Integration
MoonGate's wallet adapter integration aims to simplify the process of incorporating Ethereum users into Solana DApps in a different way. Developers are encouraged to ensure smooth integration by implementing the Solana Labs Wallet adapter within their DApp. For those exploring alternative integration stacks or utilizing custom wallet adapters, consultation with MoonGate's staff on Discord is advised for personalized support.[6]
MoonGate x Silence Laboratories
In December 2023, MoonGate formed a partnership with Silence Laboratories with the goal of bolstering asset security for Solana DApp users. MoonGate provides developer-friendly SDKs to facilitate smoother transactions between Ethereum and Solana. Users can link their Ethereum wallet to Solana through MoonGate, establishing a Solana wallet in the process.
Silence Laboratories contributes cryptographic libraries for decentralized signatures to enhance security while maintaining usability. This collaboration aims to implement a security protocol where users' private keys are stored as "shards" across two nodes, ensuring user ownership and minimizing potential points of failure.[7]
