Soban Saqib is a co-founder at Ex Populus, a Web3 video game development studio. The studio's mission is to collaborate with the next generation of elite content creators and introduce their games to the Web3 and the Metaverse. ^[1]

Education

Soban Saqib attended the University of California, Santa Cruz University from 2014 to 2018 in the United States, where he then dropped out. ^[2]

Career

From November 2019 to December 2020, Soban joined Vector Space Biosciences, parent company of Vectorspace AI. They focused on context-controlled Natural Language Processing/Understanding (NLP/NLU) and feature engineering to detect hidden relationships in data, enabling advanced approaches in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). ^[2]

Since co-founding Ex Populus in 2021, Soban has led strategy and worked with third-party games at the company. With a background as a futurist and digital asset veteran, Soban has consistently embraced emerging trends early on. He is well-known in the industry for his deep technical understanding, particularly as one of the few NFT collectors. Soban is also an angel investor with a significant portfolio, including investments in Berachain, Parallel, and Offchain Labs. ^[5]

Ex Populus

In 2021, Soban Saqib co-founded Ex Populus alongside Clement Wong, Mark Harris, and Tobias Batton (CEO). Ex Populus projects aim to maximize the potential for Web3 communities to engage with Ex Populus games and embrace associated NFT collections. Ex Populus receives backing from Animoca, Com2US, CMS, Enjin, CitizenX, and various other notable game and Web3 investors. Over the past year, the company has successfully sold out multiple collectible drops, including LAMO action figures and The Decentralized Autonomous GigaUnits trading cards. Additionally, they are anticipated to release Mike Tyson’s Iron Pigeons trading card set coinciding with the early access launch of their first game, Final Form, later this year. ^[3][4][6]

Ex Populus has also established a strategic partnership with Offchain Labs, the creators of Arbitrum, one of Ethereum's prominent scaling solutions. This collaboration designates Ex Populus as a significant strategic partner of Offchain by pledging its collection of games to Xai, the first Layer 3 of the Arbitrum ecosystem. ^[7]
