Frederik Gregaard is a Danish executive who has served as Chief Executive Officer of the Cardano Foundation, the Swiss not-for-profit organization tasked with custodianship of the Cardano blockchain protocol, since October 2020.[1][2]
Frederik Gregaard earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance and Administration from Copenhagen Business School from 2003 to 2006. He later completed a Master of Science in Management of Innovation and Business Development at Copenhagen Business School from 2006 to 2009. In 2006, he also received a Merit qualification from ACI – Financial Markets Association Worldwide. [1]
Frederik Gregaard has served as Chief Executive Officer of the Cardano Foundation since October 2020, where he oversees strategy, governance, operations, financial management, and technology initiatives. He has also served as Chair of the Board of Cardano AG since November 2024 and held an interim Chief Financial Officer role at the Cardano Foundation from September 2024 to December 2025. [1] [2]
From May 2016 to October 2020, Gregaard was Director and Head of Digital Financial Services and the PwC Experience Center at PwC Switzerland, focusing on digital transformation, financial services, and technology-related initiatives. He previously held several positions at Saxo Bank Switzerland, including Director and Head of Institutional Business (2009–2016), First Vice President and Head of Sales and Account Management (2008–2009), and Manager of the Nordic Region (2006–2007). Earlier in his career, Gregaard worked as a Sales Manager at Nykredit from 2003 to 2006 and served as a reconnaissance sergeant in the Royal Danish Army from 2000 to 2003, including a NATO peace-support deployment in Kosovo. He has also worked as an industry consultant for GLG, mentored fintech startups through F10, and served as a guest lecturer at ETH Zurich. [1] [4]
