Coinfest Asia 2023, Asia’s grandest festival celebrating blockchain, Web3, and digital assets, took place in Bali, Indonesia, from August 24th to August 25th. This edition focused on the regulation of cryptocurrency and the integration of blockchain into the real economy. A key theme was merging Web2 and Web3 to attract mass users by simplifying user experiences, such as through custodial wallets and social media authentication. The event also addressed the benefits and risks of crypto-assets, regulatory issues, and institutional implementation strategies, with an emphasis on creating user-friendly “super-Dapps” for instant cryptocurrency exchange into national currencies, particularly stablecoins tied to the Indonesian rupiah.
