Hey (formerly Lenster) is a composable, decentralized, and permissionless social media web dApp built with Lens Protocol. As Lenster, it was the first Web3 social experience to be built on Lens. The application functions similarly to Twitter in layout and execution, with added support for a variety of NFT types.[8][9][1][2][3]
Hey runs on the Polygon network so users can interact with the dapp with zero gas fees. No one, not even administrators, can remove content from the app. Hey is powered by Lens Protocol, a decentralized social graph built by Aave companies. [2][1]
Lenster was founded by Yoginth[4], a front-end engineer for Aave and Lens Protocol, on March 30, 2022. The project originated from a hackathon.[6][7][9]
On September 29, 2023, Lenster officially rebranded to Hey and launched a new website at hey.xyz.[9]
