Max Kantelia has over 25 years of experience in the start-up and acceleration of fast-growth companies in London, New York, Singapore, and the UAE. He has been focused on building an entire blockchain-based ecosystem and ventures, which started with the launch of Zilliqa Technology, a Layer 1 protocol.
In 2015, he founded Anquan Capital in Singapore, serving as co-founder and CEP. Anquan Capital is a private investment company and venture builder which launched a group of deep technology and product companies over a five year period, from 2015 to 2020 including the Zilliqa L1 blockchain.
In 2017, he co-founded Zilliqa Technology, a high-security, high-throughput public blockchain platform designed to scale to thousands of transactions per second. He also began serving as the Advisory Board Member at TEN31 Bank and XCAD Network in 2020 and continues in the role presently.
In 2022, he co-founded Metapolis, a brand created and conceptualized through the NFT and Metaverse department at Ziliqa. It was launched in Miami in April of that year. It later developed into MetaMinds, which he founded as a company in August 2023. Max Kantelia serves as its chairman.
In August 2023, he created Zilliqa Group, a venture builder focused on the luxury and entertainment industry sectors. The group continues to build for the previous companies he founded, including Zilliqa Technology, MetaMinds, Rolling Thund3rZ, and TokenTraxx.
Zilliqa was launched in 2017 as a high-throughput public blockchain platform designed to scale thousands of transactions per second. Their efforts are focused on streamlining the efficiency, trust, and transparency of Web 3.0. At the time of the ZWAP launch, the Zilliqa blockchain had processed almost 12 million transactions since launching its Mainnet in January 2019. It has a global community of over 150,000 users, more than 780,000 wallet holders, and a growing network of over 1000+ developers.
Adoption-wise, Zilliqa has an ecosystem of over 80 projects from 20+ countries building on the platform. Corporations use the Zilliqa platform for services like open and decentralized finance, asset securitization, service tokenization, and incentivized marketing.
Max plans on helping Zilliqa expand in the Southeast Asian region particularly, as he finds it to be an untapped market.
In light of that, we believe that it’s important to look outside of the immediate blockchain industry to fully realise the technology’s potential. Our focus is to continue building out an open, interoperable financial network to support next-generation fintech solutions across the Southeast Asian region. Through blockchain and smart contracts, we hope to collaborate with strategic partners across the traditional financial ecosystem as well as the fintech space to effectively meet the needs of the financially underserved. This market remains largely untapped, with only 27 percent of citizens in the region equipped with basic financial services such as a bank account despite high levels of mobile phone penetration. Through this, we hope to effectuate a new model of Open Finance across the region, characterised by inclusion, access, and transparency.
Originally known as Metapolis, it was relaunched as MetaMinds. It is the world’s first Metaverse-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform provider. It provides clients with an immersive metaverse experience by leveraging spatial web technologies. MetaMinds specializes in developing interactive metaverse projects for clients, allowing brands and partners to deploy market-ready metaverses and spatial web projects rapidly.
