Mihai Alisie earned a Licentiate degree in Cybernetics, Economy Informatics, and Statistics from Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu. He attended the university from 2007 to 2010, focusing on the interdisciplinary study of cybernetics and its applications in economic informatics and statistical analysis. [1]
Career
Mihai Alisie has been involved in blockchain technology since 2011 when he co-founded Bitcoin Magazine, the first Bitcoin-focused publication, with Vitalik Buterin. He served as the Editor-in-Chief of the magazine until late 2013, after which he joined Buterin in founding the Ethereum project. [1]
Mihai Alisie is currently involved with Akasha, a blockchain-based decentralized social media platform he founded in 2015. Akasha, which stands for ‘Advanced Knowledge Architecture for Social Human Advocacy,’ is built on the Ethereum blockchain and integrated with the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS). Its decentralized structure is intended to resist censorship and avoid single points of failure or bandwidth issues. [2]
Ethereum
During the early development of Ethereum, Alisie led efforts in Switzerland to establish the necessary business infrastructure and legal framework for the Ethereum "pre-sale" campaign. After the successful establishment in Switzerland, he managed Ethereum operations as the Strategic Manager and Vice-President of the Ethereum Foundation until late 2015. [1][3]
