History & Tokenomics

The founders of Samoyedcoin, known by the pseudonyms smsl and Hot Onion, remain anonymous. Their interest in Solana's technological advancements prompted the creation of a meme project. ^[3]

In April 2021, SAMO was created with a maximum supply of 14 billion. 66.1% of SAMO was allocated to burns, 14.4% for airdrops, 10% for marketing, 5.6% for gradual release, 3.9% for the core team. ^[4]

Samoyedcoin operates on Solana, a smart contract blockchain founded by Anatoly Yakovenko. Solana utilizes a unique transaction verification approach, combining proof of stake with its proprietary system, proof of history. ^[5]

SAMO Airdrop for Saga Smartphone

In December 2023,  Samoyed Coin (SAMO) announced it would be releasing an airdrop for Solana Saga smartphone holders. The Solana Saga smartphone is a crypto smartphone by Solana. The $SAMO airdrop was finally announced on January 8, 2024, alongside Saga Tools - a platform to let other Solana developers deploy airdrops and other benefits that are exclusively for owners of the Solana phone. ^[6][7]
