Weishuai Yang
Weishuai Yang is a technologist and entrepreneur who serves as the co-founder and chief technology officer of Tread.fi, a company that develops algorithmic trading tools for digital assets. He is based in New York, New York, and previously held engineering management roles at Coinbase and Uniswap Labs.[1][2]
Education
Yang completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in computer science at Zhejiang University in China. He earned a Bachelor of Science in computer science between 1995 and 1999, followed by a Master of Science in computer science at the same institution between 1999 and 2002.[1][3]
He continued his studies in the United States at Binghamton University in Binghamton, New York, where he pursued two degrees concurrently. He completed a PhD in computer science between 2002 and 2008 and, in an overlapping period from 2003 to 2007, an MBA at the Binghamton University School of Management.[1][3] His areas of expertise span software engineering, algorithmic trading, market making, capital markets, and market data analysis.[1]
Career
Before co-founding Tread.fi, Yang worked in engineering leadership roles at two established cryptocurrency companies. He was an engineering manager at Coinbase, the U.S. cryptocurrency exchange, from October 2021 to June 2022.[3][1] He then joined Uniswap Labs, the company behind the decentralized exchange protocol Uniswap, as an engineering manager from June 2022 to November 2022.[3][1]

Yang is a co-founder and the chief technology officer of Tread.fi, taking on the role in January 2023.[3] Tread.fi, founded in 2022, is a private company that builds algorithmic trading tools for digital assets. Its platform is designed to integrate into a trader's existing workflow, automate the execution of trades, and minimize slippage — the difference between an expected trade price and the price at which the trade is actually filled. .[2]
Yang co-founded the company alongside David Jeong, who serves as chief executive officer, and Yibo Duan, another co-founder.[2] As chief technology officer, he leads the company's technical development, drawing on his background in software engineering and electronic trading systems.[1]
