IVS Crypto is a global startup and crypto conference in Japan that has successfully held 10,000+ attendees. ^[1][2][3]

Overview

Launched in 2007, IVS has made its mark as the largest conference and community for startup executives in Japan. In its 15th year, IVS Crypto has also taken its place, emerging as the largest Web 3.0 conference in Japan. ^[1][2]

2023's IVS Crypto was the largest crypto event in Japan, offering a multifaceted experience throughout Kyoto with more than 10,500 attendees, 300 speakers, and 150 side events under the theme "What's your new adventures?"^[3]

IVS Crypto 2024 KYOTO

Following 2023's success, "IVS Crypto 2024 KYOTO with Japan Blockchain Week Summit" will be held from July 4 to July 6, 2024, under the theme "Cross the Boundaries" at the Kyoto Pulse Plaza, and others. The focus is on the evolution and application of blockchain technology and exploring the future of Web 3.0 through games, entertainment, AI, etc. ^[1]

In addition, leaders from Japan and overseas will share their insights with the audience. This event will kick off Japan Blockchain Week 2024 in July 2024 and will be held simultaneously with the Japan Blockchain Week Summit. ^[4]

1st floor

The 1st-floor content consists of several areas that promote the practical application of blockchain technology and allow participants to experience the Web 3.0 world as it integrates into daily lives.

IVS Crypto 2024 sessions will be intersecting various themes such as "Blockchain Data x AI," "SocialFi x Entertainment," "Game-Specific Chains x Gaming Industry," "DeFi x Financial Efficiency," "Anime IP x NFT", and "Social infrastructure x DePIN". ^[4]

Sector leaders from Japan and abroad such as  Mo Shaikh (CEO and Co-Founder of Aptos Labs), Yat Siu (CEO of Animoca Brands), Sebastien Borget (Co-founder of the Sandbox),  Joichi Ito (President of Chiba Institute of Technology), Mai Fujimoto (Co-founder of INTMAX ), Genki Oda (Representative Director of JVCEA), Hidekazu Kondo (CEO of Japan Open Chain), Waka Itagaki (Deputy Director of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry), Ken Kanetomo (web3 Division Manager of Konami Digital Entertainment), and Hideto Kawasaki (Director-General of web3PT of Liberal Democratic Party) will take the stage to provide insights on the latest technologies and trends. ^[4]

3rd Floor

Inamori Hall on the third floor will function as an event space dedicated to Web 3.0 on Friday, July 5, 2024. Here, innovative projects and ideas will come together, providing a space to match creators and developers at the forefront.

In the morning's "AI x Web3 Animation Contest," young creators will compete in a short animation created using AI technology and the Unreal Engine. The winning entries will be commercialized by Puri Prince and SHAKE Entertainment and will be adapted into animation, comics, and games. These works are created using the AI-based model/anime production tools made by Animechain.ai, and the AI model information, IP, and licenses will be managed on the blockchain. Prizes will be awarded for outstanding works to further support creators' activities.

In the afternoon event, "WaveHack Global Demo Day," participants will present their ongoing projects. This demo day will serve as the first presentation of the "WaveHack Global" program, and teams that receive high ratings will be offered the opportunity to pitch. Projects that receive outstanding evaluations will be given the opportunity for further presentations at EDCON and WebX in the future. The program will ultimately provide grants totaling $500,000 from 30 projects, to commercialize and disseminate innovative Web3 technologies.

2nd and 5th Floors

The second and fifth floors of IVS Crypto offer business pass-only areas and are important hubs for business professionals to maximize investment and partnership opportunities.

The second floor features an "Elevator Pitch Area" and " VC Meeting Lounge". The Elevator Pitch Area is staffed by many venture capitalists and provides an environment where participants can directly pitch to VCs and discuss investment opportunities. Meanwhile, there is a networking area where important meetings with business alliances and key partners are held and this provides a private space to explore strategic alliances.

The Executive Lounge on the 5th floor is an exclusive space for Executive and Investor pass holders. This space allows opportunities for networking and 1-on-1s with other executives and investors over snacks and drinks in the Observation Deck Salon.

Japan Blockchain Week

The “Japan Blockchain Week Summit (JBW Summit)” is an event to be held within IVS Crypto, renamed from “Non Fungible Tokyo” in 2024. This summit is co-hosted by JapanBlockchainWeek Foundation and N.Avenue, the operator of CoinDesk JAPAN. ^[1]

During Japan Blockchain Week 2024, starting with “IVS Crypto 2024 KYOTO with Japan Blockchain Week Summit,” a variety of events exploring the latest technologies and trends related to Web3 will be held across the country. Additionally, more than 300 events are planned throughout Japan, including at famous sites in Kyoto, with total attendance expected to exceed 50,000. ^[1]
