Education

Murat Firat completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto, earning a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a Minor in Engineering Business in 2019.^[1]

Career

Together with Sinan Koç, Murat Firat co-founded BiLira in Istanbul, Turkey. Operating as an organization under the Turkish law, BiLira strives to extend access for Turkish residents to the decentralized and peer-to-peer (P2P) global financial network utilizing its fiat-backed stablecoin, TRYB.

Previously, he worked as a Software Engineer at Coinbase in the San Francisco Bay Area, and was involved in the development of Coinbase Wallet. As a Blockchain Developer at RBC Global Asset Management in Toronto, Canada, Murat contributed to the Next Gen Asset Management platform.

Additionally, he participated in and completed the ConsenSys Academy Developer Program, providing insights into the Ethereum ecosystem. In earlier roles, Murat was a Blockchain Developer in the Amplify Program at RBC, implementing Blockchain technology into Wealth Management, resulting in cost savings and efficiency improvements, alongside provisional patent recognition.^[1][2][3]
