On March 23, 2019, Or Perelman, COO and co-founder of ChromaWay and Chromapolis (now Chromia), participated in an interview on the ChromaWay YouTube channel alongside Ginés Sánchez Navarro, Operations and Strategy Manager at ChromaWay. The discussion centered on Chromapolis, a blockchain platform designed to simplify the development of decentralized applications (dApps) by integrating relational databases with blockchain technology.
Perelman shared his journey into the blockchain space, beginning with his introduction to Bitcoin in 2011 and his early work on wallet development and the Coloredcoins protocol. He explained Chromapolis’s core vision: to address limitations in existing blockchain platforms by enabling complex on-chain logic and offering developers greater flexibility, such as the ability to customize transaction fees. This approach aimed to enhance user experience and application functionality.
The interview highlighted Chromapolis’s focus on the gaming industry as a strategic market for rapid deployment and validation of dApps. Perelman emphasized the platform’s commitment to technological development over speculative milestones, underscoring a long-term vision for sustainable growth. He also discussed the platform’s tokenomics, noting that Chroma tokens (ERC-20) have a fixed supply of 1 billion, with clear utility for hosting fees and staking within the ecosystem.
Additionally, Perelman touched on Chromapolis’s regulatory compliance, including its registration in Estonia and adherence to KYC processes audited by PWC. This focus on transparency and regulatory standards was presented as a key factor in building trust with investors and users.
The interview concluded with insights into Chromapolis’s developer-friendly features, such as a programming language resembling SQL and automated tools for data indexing and querying. These features were designed to lower the barrier to entry for developers, fostering a diverse ecosystem of dApps. [9] [10]
