Reactive Network is a blockchain infrastructure that enables event-driven automation and real-time cross-chain workflows through Reactive Smart Contracts. It enhances scalability and interoperability by allowing smart contracts to autonomously respond to on-chain and off-chain events. [1]
Reactive Network is a blockchain infrastructure designed to enhance scalability, interoperability, and automation through its data-driven execution layer for Reactive Smart Contracts. It enables event-driven automation and real-time cross-chain workflows, allowing smart contracts to respond dynamically to both on-chain and off-chain events. This approach supports decentralized applications, automated DeFi workflows, and AI-driven blockchain interactions. The network is intended for developers building automated dApps, businesses seeking scalable solutions, and those interested in blockchain utility. [2]
Reactive Smart Contracts (RSCs) run on the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and can be written in any EVM-compatible language with Solidity-customized ABIs. Unlike traditional smart contracts, which passively wait for user-initiated transactions, RSCs autonomously monitor blockchain events and execute predefined actions. This event-driven model enables automation without external prompts.
RSCs specify the blockchains, contracts, and events they track. Once an event occurs, they execute logic, update states, and run transactions trustlessly. They deploy on both the Reactive Network and a private ReactVM, with the main network handling external interactions while the ReactVM processes event data. These two contract copies operate independently but share the same bytecode.
RSCs improve decentralization by removing centralized points of control, enhance automation by executing actions based on real-time data, and support cross-chain interoperability. Their ability to process and react to events autonomously enables complex financial instruments, dynamic NFTs, automated DeFi workflows, and other advanced blockchain applications. [4] [5]
ReactVM is an EVM-compatible execution environment designed for Reactive Smart Contracts (RSCs). Unlike the standard EVM, it supports parallelized transaction processing, allowing multiple instances to run independently. Each RSC is typically assigned its own ReactVM instance, though multiple RSCs can share one, which is not recommended.
ReactVM operates in isolation, activating only when an event matches an RSC’s subscription. While this introduces some overhead, optimizations such as separating the EVM from Geth have reduced boot time to approximately 100 microseconds, minimizing its impact on network performance. [3] [6]
The REACT token launched with the Mainnet, replacing the PRQ token from the original PARSIQ ecosystem through a 1:1 swap. It is the native gas token for Reactive Network, facilitating transaction fees, contract execution, and event log processing. Validators secure the network by staking REACT in exchange for rewards. A deflationary mechanism burns transaction fees, and once daily burns surpass minted rewards, the token supply decreases over time. [2] [7]
