Daniel Kim was born in Arlington, Virginia. He pursued higher education at Ajou University (아주대학교) in South Korea. Kim is multilingual, being fluent in English, Korean, and Japanese.

In the technology sector, Daniel Kim worked on roles at major corporations such as Microsoft, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Yahoo! He was among the early AWS employees in South Korea and Japan, leading initial market research, business development, and organizational work for AWS regional operations, focusing on areas like blockchain and cloud computing.

Investment Research

Following his tenure in tech companies, Kim transitioned to the investment sector where he led the Technology Research and Analyst team at a large New York-based family investment office managing over $20 billion in assets under management.

In 2021, Daniel Kim founded Tiger Research, headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, with operations in Vietnam and Indonesia. Tiger Research provides market research, business development, and project management services for enterprise blockchain initiatives. Clients include Animoca Brands, Forte, and the Klaytn Foundation, with additional clients such as Solana Foundation, The Graph Foundation, and Everyworld. Notable partnerships include a memorandum of understanding with Animoca Brands in September 2023 for Web3 business development and marketing in Korea.
