DeepBrain Chain

DeepBrain Chain (DBC) is a -based platform that provides a secure and cost-effective way to train and use artificial intelligence (AI) models. It was founded by  in May 2017. [2][3]

Overview

DeepBrain Chain uses computer resources from people all over the world and pools them together to provide computational resources. Their goal is to provide AI companies with cheaper computational resources as they consistently grow more expensive. [4]

The platform is built on top of the system and proposes a unique mechanism that rewards miners for providing computing power instead of doing meaningless computation that leads to wasting power. Miners get paid in DeepBrain Coin ($DBC) for the work they provide on the network that goes toward AI computational needs. They also get paid in Neo Gas () since DeepBrain Chain is on the NEO platform. is the fee AI companies pay to use DBC. [4]

DeepBrain Chain won the Innovation and Creativity Award in the 2017 ZhongGuanCun Second Blockchain Competition which was led by . [6]

On DBC's utility and relationship with data:

"DBC will allow AI companies to acquire data more easily.  Because a lot of data are private data.  They have heavy security, such as on health and on finance.  For AI companies, it’s almost next to impossible to acquire these data.  The reason being, these data are easy to copy.  After the data is copied, they’re easy to leak.

One of DBC’s core features is trying to solve this data leakage issue, and this will help AI companies’ willingness to share data, thus reducing the cost you spend on data, to increase the flow of data in society. This will expand and really show the value of data." - , Chairman of DBC responded to Coin Central[7]

Technology

The DBC network contains three important parts: a high-performance computing network, a mainnet, and a GPU computing mainnet. The high-performance computing nodes in the network can provide high-performance computing power for multiple industries, including AI training and inference, cloud gaming, rendering, blockchain zero-knowledge computing, ETH2.0 POS computing nodes, etc. [10]

DBC Token

DeepBrain Chain ($DBC) is a token that is used to power the DeepBrain Chain platform. The DBC token serves as the universal currency of the platform, maximizing participation from various AI players in the ecosystem all around the world, including developers, universities, computing power providers, SMEs, financial institutes, and data providers. [1][10]

DBC tokens are generated through a process similar to , where 50% of tokens are generated through . The first 3 years of mining generate a total of 500 million DBCs per year. From the 4th year, the mining production will reduce by half every 5 years. [10]

The DBC token has a total supply of 10 billion. The project had an (ICO) on December 14, 2017, where it raised funds by selling DBC tokens and sold out within 1 hour. [4][10]

Roadmap & Development

DeepBrain Chain (DBC) Token Sale & 1.0 was released in August 2017 and in December 2017, DBC was listed on exchanges. [8]

In February 2018, a research laboratory in Silicon Valley was established to achieve AI training in the P2P network. In 2019, the DBC AI training and testing network was released, introducing key companies into closed testing; starting network beta testing, and public API for third-party users. [8]

In 2020, DBC distributed a high-performance computing network release, and the DBChain website was launched. In early 2021, DeepBrain Chain and the online reward were officially launched. In late 2021, the mainnet token swap of the exchange was completed, the Galaxy Race was launched, and the high-performance computing power network of the DeepBrain Chain was realized. [8]

The number of Galaxy Competition GPUs reached 1,500; the cloud platform based on DBC was launched, and 3 computing pools in South Korea were added to the DBC network in early 2022. In late 2022, the dbc-based cloud platforms in South Korea and Singapore went online; the number of DBC blockchain network GPUs exceeded 2,400; the dbc-based cloud gaming platform DeepLink also went online. [8]

In February 2023, Huawei, DeepBrain Chain, and jointly established the Metaverse and Web3 Alliance. Also, the world's first ZestCloud cloud Internet cafe based on DBC and DeepLink technology was put into trial operation in Seoul, South Korea. [8][9]
