On October 1, 2025, Elizabeth Hansson appeared on The Brave Technologist to discuss digital asset policy, cryptocurrency regulation, and community participation in legislative processes. During the interview, she described her work with Stand With Crypto and the Detroit Blockchain Collective, as well as her views on the relationship between public policy and the digital asset sector.
During the discussion, Hansson stated that regulatory uncertainty and existing legal frameworks have influenced the development of the cryptocurrency industry in the United States. She said that legislation defining market structure and regulatory responsibilities could provide greater clarity for businesses and organizations operating in the sector. She also referred to state-level legislation as a complement to federal regulatory efforts in areas such as commerce, taxation, and digital asset governance.
Hansson further stated that many policymakers have limited familiarity with blockchain technology and digital assets. According to her, advocacy organizations and community groups can facilitate communication between legislators and participants in the cryptocurrency ecosystem by providing information about technical concepts and practical applications. She also discussed the role of civic participation, including engagement with elected officials and policy initiatives, as part of the legislative process related to digital assets. [4]
