Education
Machart completed his secondary education at the International Business College Hetzendorf from 2005 to 2010, earning his Matura with distinction. He then attended WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) from 2011 to 2014, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. During 2014, he participated in an exchange semester at the Nova School of Business and Economics in Lisbon, Portugal, studying strategy and organizational behavior, and also attended an international summer university program focused on new business development and market entry. He continued his postgraduate studies from 2014 to 2016, earning a Master of Science in Strategy, Innovation, and Management Control from WU Vienna. Concurrently, as part of a double-degree program, he completed a Master of International Business at the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University in Canada between 2015 and 2016. [2]
Career
Machart began his professional experience in 2007 and 2008 with short internships at Kommunalkredit Austria AG, where he supported the finance and controlling departments with office and administrative tasks. In 2008, he also completed a brief work placement as a sales associate at TK Maxx in the United Kingdom. In 2009, he returned to Kommunalkredit for another internship, assisting the controlling department. In 2013, he worked as a management consulting intern at EY, where he contributed to process optimization projects in the pharmaceutical sector, supported financial reporting initiatives, and assisted with documentation and presentation development.
In 2015, Machart served as a co-organizer for Entrepreneurship Avenue, where he was involved in event planning and social media marketing. That same year, he completed a business development internship at RHI Magnesita, supporting corporate strategy and M&A activities through financial and strategic industry analysis. In late 2016 and early 2017, he joined Axel Springer Digital as a visiting analyst, where he supported M&A projects in performance marketing, conducted market research, and assisted with investment controlling and startup screening. He then continued at the Axel Springer Plug and Play Accelerator in 2017, contributing to investor relations, deal flow management, industry research, and operational support for portfolio startups.
From 2017 to 2018, Machart co-founded and served as CEO of ZeniAd, a company focused on virtual reality advertising and performance marketing solutions. In 2018, he joined Greenfield Capital as Head of Research, where he focused on evaluating early-stage technology teams and projects in the decentralized technology space. In January 2022, he became a Partner at Greenfield Capital, continuing his work in investment research and venture capital leadership. [2]
