David Walsh

David Walsh is a business development and enterprise blockchain executive whose work centers on digital asset infrastructure, institutional systems, and enterprise adoption of public blockchain networks. He has held commercial and ecosystem leadership roles at Rewards, Alluvial, and , and, since June 2025, has served as Head of Enterprise at the ; he is also a co‑founder of Enterprise Onchain, an initiative focused on enterprise blockchain infrastructure and on‑chain business applications. Education

Walsh earned a BA in Economics from University College Cork (UCC) and an MSc in Management from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. [1] [2]

Career

Walsh began his career in financial services consulting at EY in 2018 as a senior consultant in the firm’s UK and Ireland consulting practice, where he worked on projects related to financial services as well as energy and asset management sectors. He remained at EY until 2021, then transitioned into the and industry. [4] In 2021, Walsh joined Rewards as Sales and Operations Manager, working across finance, operations, marketing, research, sales, and growth functions during the company’s early expansion phase. At Rewards, he scaled the product to approximately 400,000 monthly users and served 150+ enterprise clients, including major firms. During his tenure, he grew revenue roughly 3.5x and made the business profitable. [1] Later that year, he became Head of Sales & Partnerships, leading the company’s commercial operations, enterprise partnerships, and go-to-market strategy. During his tenure, Rewards expanded its enterprise client base and introduced industry initiatives, including the Summit and Service Provider (VSP) programs.

In August 2023, Walsh joined as Head of Ecosystem while also serving as Head of Sales at Alluvial, the development company behind the institutional protocol. His work focused on ecosystem partnerships, institutional infrastructure, and business development related to services. During his tenure, grew to more than $1 billion in total value locked (TVL) without public incentives or a token. Named institutional partners included , , Galaxy, and Anchorage. [1] In December 2024, Walsh became Head of Ecosystem at Alluvial following an expanded role within the organization. In June 2025, he joined the as Head of Enterprise, focusing on enterprise adoption and institutional engagement within the ecosystem. Later that year, he also became a co-founder of Enterprise Onchain, an initiative focused on enterprise infrastructure and on-chain business applications. [4] [1]

Career at the Ethereum Foundation

Walsh built the Foundation’s original Enterprise function, engaging hundreds of institutional organizations over approximately five years. He authored "Enterprise Onchain," a newsletter on institutional crypto adoption with ~9,000 readers (as of December 23, 2025). [1] He also participates in angel investing and advises select projects. Co-Founding Ethereum Institutional

Walsh co-founded in 2026 alongside Marius Smith and Matthew Dawson; the organization launched on July 1, 2026 and is headquartered in New York. He serves as Executive Director of . Prior to the spinout, he led the Foundation’s institutional outreach. [5] [4]
