Solana Breakpoint
Solana Breakpoint is an annual conference hosted by the Solana Foundation. It brings together developers, industry leaders, and blockchain enthusiasts to explore advancements and trends in the Solana ecosystem. The event highlights key technological innovations, network upgrades, and the latest projects building on Solana, fostering collaboration and growth within the community. Held in cities worldwide since 2021, Breakpoint is a conference series for participants in decentralized technology.[1]
2026 Edition
Solana Breakpoint 2026 is scheduled for November 15–17, 2026, at Olympia Convention Centre in London. The official speakers page lists Anatoly Yakovenko and Lily Liu, as well as representatives from Revolut, Zelle, Barclays, and Mitsui & Co.[6]
2025 Edition
Solana Breakpoint 2025 was held in Abu Dhabi from December 11 to 13 at the Etihad Arena, alongside major regional events such as Abu Dhabi Finance Week and the Formula 1 Grand Prix.[7] The Solana Foundation’s post-event account described the edition as focused primarily on revenue and framed the conference’s broad vision as Solana as the “Everything Chain.” Programming targeted founders, developers, and institutional allocators.[7][8]
Positioned as a more finance-heavy evolution of earlier Breakpoint conferences, the Abu Dhabi event framed Solana as a venue for institutional-scale, revenue-generating activity rather than a purely “crypto-native” gathering.[8] Key themes from official coverage included the development of an institutional “capital layer” on Solana and the articulation of an “Everything Chain” vision for onchain economic activity. In addition, speakers highlighted progress on Firedancer and broader client diversity, exploration of AI and crypto intersections, and a continued focus on mobile and payments use cases.[8]
Breakpoint 2025 was the first edition held in the Middle East, sold out, and included more than 80 sessions. The conference emphasized institutional capital and tokenized real-world assets alongside its focus on revenue. Official event coverage reported that Firedancer was live on mainnet and highlighted further protocol work, including Multiple Concurrent Proposers and Alpenglow.[8]
Announcements and demonstrations covered several ecosystem products. Solana Mobile announced a planned chipset-level integration of its stack in collaboration with FXTech, MediaTek, and Trustonic. Render Network announced Dispersed, a decentralized GPU-computing platform, and Solflare introduced Magic AI.[12]

Past editions of Solana Breakpoint from 2024 through 2021 trace the conference’s evolution from its inaugural gathering in Lisbon to larger, multi-venue events emphasizing protocol scaling, ecosystem growth, and real-world use cases. 2024 Edition
Solana Breakpoint 2024 was held in Singapore from September 20 to 21 and organized by the Solana Foundation. The conference brought together developers, investors, and ecosystem participants to discuss recent innovations, network upgrades, and applications built on Solana, with keynotes, workshops, and networking sessions focused on the protocol and its broader blockchain ecosystem. The 2024 edition adopted the “Forward Motion” theme, highlighting industry transformation and sustained momentum for Solana-based applications.[10][2]
In 2024 the conference format was reworked around two equally sized main stages, Left Curve and Right Curve. Left Curve focused on product
- and business-centric sessions designed to accelerate user adoption, while Right Curve centered on technical and engineering content to support developer adoption of the Solana platform. Breakpoint 2024 eliminated traditional panels in favor of four formats — product keynotes, fireside chats, structured debates, and headline keynotes — intended to keep sessions focused on launches, substantive discussion, and network-critical announcements.[9][10]

2023 Edition
Solana Breakpoint 2023, held in Amsterdam from October 30 to November 3, brought together 3,000 developers, validators, founders, engineers, and ecosystem contributors from the Solana community. With over 300 presentations, discussions, workshops, and 25+ side events, the conference showcased Solana’s latest advancements and its commitment to decentralized, high-performance blockchain technology.[3]
The event opened with a keynote by Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko, who highlighted the community’s drive to tackle complex challenges and push the limits of blockchain technology. This theme underscored the ecosystem’s ongoing improvements, including Solana Improvement Documents (SIMDs) launched in early 2023, which generated 79 proposals for protocol enhancements. Yakovenko and other leaders also spotlighted upgrades like Solana 1.16 and Firedancer, a validator upgrade aiming to increase transactions per second significantly by 10x-100x. In addition, validator diversity and network security were focal points, with over 2,000 nodes maintaining a decentralized network. Amira Valliani, Head of Policy at the Solana Foundation, underscored the importance of distributing network stakes to avoid single points of control. Solana’s sustainability was also emphasized, with each transaction using minimal energy compared to traditional online searches.[3]
Notable discussions included Helium’s 2022 migration to Solana, which Noah Prince, Helium’s Head of Protocol Engineering, described as a seamless transition that highlighted Solana’s capability for integrating decentralized systems. The conference also celebrated the growing ecosystem, from applications like Helium’s user-hosted wireless networks to Helius’s DePIN solutions. These examples demonstrated Solana’s adaptability for diverse blockchain applications.[3]
2022 Edition
Solana Breakpoint 2022 was the second annual conference organized by Solana, held from November 4th to 7th in Lisbon, Portugal. It brought together the global community and followed the inaugural 2021 Breakpoint. The event offered developers, builders, and blockchain enthusiasts a chance to connect, exchange ideas, and discuss the future of Solana.[1][4]
The conference took place across four Lisbon venues and featured over 100 workshops, panels, and discussions. Highlights included a keynote from Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko, who discussed Solana’s focus on speed, resilience, and privacy, as well as updates on the tooling ecosystem led by Jacob Creech. Notable panels, such as “What’s Next for Crypto Policy,” addressed evolving US and European crypto regulations. Day two offered hands-on workshops like building zk-apps and xNFTs on Solana, emphasizing privacy and decentralization in DeFi. Day three highlighted topics like blockchain automation with Nick Garfield and Web3 messaging advancements with Chris Osborn from Dialect Labs.[1][4]
Breakpoint 2022 also included 70+ side events, ranging from social gatherings and hackathons to focused discussions on topics like Women in Web3, DeFi, and NFTs. These activities underscored Solana’s mission to drive blockchain innovation and community engagement.[1][4]
2021 Edition
Solana Breakpoint 2021 in Lisbon, Portugal, organized by the Solana Foundation, celebrated the community’s achievements and aimed to inspire future developments. The event brought together industry leaders, developers, and innovators worldwide, marking Solana's first in-person gathering. The conference spanned multiple venues across Lisbon, each focused on distinct themes. LxFactory, the Ecosystem Stage, hosted discussions on the broader Solana ecosystem and its evolving role in the blockchain space. Estufa Fria, referred to as the Growth Stage, was the site for sessions on scaling and expanding Solana's reach. Meanwhile, SUD Lisboa, or the Developers Track, provided a space for technical workshops and talks tailored for developers. These varied settings enabled participants to explore different aspects of the ecosystem, from technical innovations to growth strategies, fostering a collaborative spirit in the expanding decentralized landscape.[5]
