We've just announced IQ AI.
Balance.fun is an AI-powered blockchain experience platform that integrates artificial intelligence with Web3 technology to create interactive social and gaming experiences. The platform utilizes AI agents as digital companions and operates on a multi-layered architecture that supports decentralized applications, gaming, and social networking features.
Balance.fun combines AI technology with blockchain infrastructure to create a comprehensive ecosystem for gaming and social interactions. The platform is built on a layered architecture that includes application, platform, protocol, token, and infrastructure components. At its core, Balance aims to bridge traditional gamers to the Web3 space by providing AI-powered companions that can assist users in gameplay and serve as social companions.
The ecosystem is supported by Key Nodes, which form the backbone of the network by providing computational resources for decentralized applications, AI training, and data processing. These nodes play a vital role in maintaining the network's security and functionality while allowing node operators to participate in the platform's governance and earn rewards.
Balance was developed by the team behind E-PAL, a gaming companion platform with over 4.2 million users and 450,000 active companions. This foundation has allowed Balance to establish partnerships with over 80 Web3 gaming companies and support more than 180 games across both Web2 and Web3 environments. [1] [6] [12]
Balance emerged from E-PAL, a gaming companion platform founded in March 2020 by Lucas Zhang and Yuzhe Norris Wang, the platform quickly grew to become one of the leading platforms in its category. E-PAL has established partnerships with major gaming companies including Riot Games, Ubisoft, Bandai Namco, Blizzard, and EA, helping them launch games and forming long-term collaborations.
In September 2024, E-PAL announced that it had raised a total of $30 million in funding from prominent investors including a16z and Galaxy Interactive to support the development and growth of Balance. This funding round demonstrated significant institutional interest in the platform's vision of combining AI and blockchain technology.
Following this initial funding, Balance secured an additional $10 million in institutional investments specifically for its Key Node infrastructure from investors including Animoca Brands, Amber Group, GSR Markets, MarbleX, Mask Network, MetaBlast Group, Web3port Foundation, Bing Venture, and Nonagon Capital.
During its Beta Test phase, Balance reported adding 26 million new users to its ecosystem, demonstrating its ability to attract traditional gamers to the Web3 space. [1] [2] [6] [7] [12] [13] [14]
Balance operates on a multi-layered architecture designed to support various aspects of its ecosystem:
The application layer serves as the user-facing component of the Balance ecosystem, providing interfaces for gaming, social interactions, and AI companion features. This layer makes the underlying technology accessible to users without requiring deep technical knowledge of blockchain or AI systems.
The platform layer provides the foundation for decentralized applications (dApps) and services within the Balance ecosystem. It includes tools and resources for developers to build and deploy applications that leverage the Balance infrastructure.
The protocol layer establishes the rules and standards for interactions within the Balance network, ensuring compatibility and interoperability between different components of the ecosystem.
Key Nodes form a critical component of the Balance infrastructure, providing computational resources for:
These nodes enable the fair distribution of rewards and resources through smart contracts while supporting the overall stability and security of the network. Key Node operators receive token rewards and share in protocol revenue in exchange for their contribution to the network.
Balance's AI agents serve as digital companions that can assist users in gaming environments and provide social interaction. These agents utilize artificial intelligence to adapt to user preferences and provide personalized experiences. In the gaming context, they can help users develop strategies, overcome challenges, and enhance their overall gameplay experience .
The Balance ecosystem is powered by its native utility token, EPT (Ethereum Protocol Token), which serves multiple functions within the platform.
The EPT token serves several purposes within the Balance ecosystem:
The Balance team has committed to using 50% of the platform's revenue to buy back EPT tokens, which aims to support token price stability and provide long-term value growth for Key Node holders.
EPT is listed on several major cryptocurrency exchanges including:
The token operates on the Ethereum blockchain as an ERC-20 token. [1] [2] [7] [6] [8] [9] [10] [11]
