It is a verifiable credential protocol focused on self-sovereign identity (SSI) services, utilizing zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) techniques. This permissionless, chain-agnostic protocol supports credential issuers, holders, and verifiers and includes features like no-code ZKP. Issuers can create and manage revocable credentials on-chain, holders can selectively disclose information for specific verifications while maintaining pseudonymity, and verifiers can define programmable trust schemas. The protocol also facilitates the minting of soul-bound tokens (SBTs) based on typed credentials and supports no-code compositional verification. [1]
Ecosystem
Galxe Identity Protocol
Galxe Identity Protocol is a permissionless, self-sovereign identity infrastructure that leverages Zero-Knowledge Proof to own, manage, and share verifiable credentials securely. It enables builders to develop Sybil prevention algorithms, reputation systems, credit systems, personal data markets, and decentralized review systems. The protocol aims to enhance Galxe's offerings by separating functionality into interconnected components. [2]
There are four key roles within the Galxe Identity Protocol: Credential Holder, Issuer, Verifier, and Credential Type Designer. Galxe designs and offers various Credential Types for projects on its platform. Campaign owners verify and issue credentials to eligible participants who become Credential Holders. [2]
At its core, Galxe Identity Protocol comprises on-chain smart contracts and off-chain SDK tools, enabling developers to deploy and utilize contracts for issuing and authenticating credentials. A credential schema consists of the context (e.g., age verification) and the credential type (boolean, yes or no). [2]
With its decentralized nature, the Galxe Identity Protocol supports chain-agnostic components, ensuring sustainability across all roles. Credential Holders can selectively disclose necessary information under a deterministic pseudonymous identity for specific verification instances. Issuers can create and manage revocable credentials on-chain. At the same time, Verifiers can define programmable trust schemas and utilize identity nullifiers for access control in diverse on-chain and off-chain applications. [2]

It enables users to display their collected credentials from the Web3 ecosystem, showcasing their achievements and history. Developers can integrate the Galxe ID toolkit as a metaverse DID, offering customized features based on users' digital credentials or enhancing user profiles within their products. This integration promises to unlock numerous possibilities and reshape the future of Web3. [1]
Galxe Passport
Galxe Passport is a secure and private universal identity for Web3 experiences, securely storing users' identity information anonymously. It functions as a universal identity across various applications for compliance purposes. Users receive a unique Galxe Passport Soulbound Token in their wallet, distinguishing them as verified individuals and aiding partners in preventing Sybil attacks. [5]
Designed with security in mind, Galxe Passport encrypts users' private information with their password, ensuring that only users can access these data unless explicitly authorized. To obtain a Soulbound Token, users undergo a verification process on Galxe, enabling them to mint and claim the Galxe Passport Token. [5]
On April 30th, 2024, Galaxy introduced Passport V2, which introduced three new user features: Private Data Vault, facial re-verification, and timestamped verification. [5]
- Private Data Vault offers a secure system to manage users' encrypted identity commitments and signed credentials. This vault ensures users can conveniently access their Passport across different protocols and platforms, combining simplicity with robust security and privacy. Galxe Passport V2 stores new users' encrypted data in the Private Data Vault, compatible with the Galxe Identity Protocol. Utilizing Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) technology, this enhancement guarantees that users' data remains completely private while remaining accessible as needed. This development underscores Galxe Passport's ongoing commitment to maintaining a balance between privacy and user-friendly accessibility. [5]
- In Galxe Passport V2, projects utilizing the platform for verification can now integrate periodic facial re-authentication into their Know-Your-Customer (KYC) processes. This enhanced security feature is designed to eliminate false KYC verifications, particularly targeting users who may have obtained their Soulbound Token (SBT) on Galxe Passport using fraudulent documents. For example, platforms that require KYC for regulatory compliance can implement periodic facial verifications, such as every six months, to ensure that biometric data matches the original verification. This approach emphasizes consistency and accuracy, positioning Galxe Passport V2 as a tool for authenticity that safeguards projects and protocols against Sybil attacks. Moreover, reducing instances of false KYCs enhances compliance with protocols that mandate rigorous verification standards. [5]
- In Galxe Passport V2, a new feature has been introduced where users' successful selfie verifications are timestamped. This enhancement aims to strengthen the verification process by providing platforms with a multi-dimensional credential to assess the authenticity of their users more effectively. By incorporating timestamped selfie verifications, Galxe Passport V2 enhances the integrity of identity verification, helping to minimize falsified verifications and ensure consistency across platforms.
